I worked at CentraCare Health from 2026 to 2021. I started out as a senior data analyst and ended as a senior data scientist. During that period, I managed the data analyses for the Central Minnesota Health Network, which was a collaborative effort by several organizations to manage health care for Medicare patients.
I developed a health risk ranking system that seemed to be an innovation in the way we look at health risk. The internal documents I wrote during that period are provided below.
- Management Brief – Central MN Health Network Risk Assessment Instrument V25.9 – February 2018
- Central MN Health Network Risk Assessment Instrument – Technical Guide
- Central MN Health Network Risk Assessment Instrument – Technology Breakthrough – V2
My work began with an attempt to predict healthcare cost. The description of that project is contained in the first document. The third document describes how I was able to shift the goal to health ranking and how that shift leads to a 50% increase in predictive validity.
